This handcrafted ceramic mug by Colleen Deiss Designs is both a functional piece and a work of art—perfect for elevating your daily coffee or tea ritual or giving as a thoughtful, one-of-a-kind gift. Each mug is slab-built from a flat piece of stoneware clay, then carefully shaped by hand into its signature form, creating a unique silhouette that stands apart from traditional wheel-thrown pottery.

Every mug goes through an extensive multi-step process, including hand-pressed textures using original stamps, dried botanicals, or antique lace. After forming, each piece is bisque fired, hand-finished to highlight the intricate details, and glazed before a final high-temperature firing. Fired to Cone 10 for exceptional strength and durability, these mugs are made to be used and enjoyed every day.

Thoughtfully crafted in small batches, each mug reflects the artist’s attention to detail and love of process—making it a meaningful gift or a special addition to your own collection.

About Colleen Deiss Designs

Colleen Deiss is a Wisconsin-based ceramic artist whose work is deeply inspired by the natural beauty of her surroundings. Raised in Hartland with a strong connection to the outdoors, she developed both a love of nature and a passion for art at an early age. After earning her BFA from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, she began her creative career as a painter before discovering her true medium in ceramics.

Her transition into pottery began in a small barn studio, where she experimented, refined her techniques, and developed her signature slab-built style. With guidance from a mentor and a lot of hands-on practice, Colleen quickly found success on the art show circuit and grew her business into one that now reaches shops and collectors across the country.

Today, Colleen creates from her in-home studio in rural Wisconsin, balancing life as an artist and a mother. Her work reflects a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, creativity, and the beauty of everyday objects—each piece thoughtfully made to bring a little more art into daily life.
