Gifts & Packaging

Will prices be included in my package?

No — our packing slips never include pricing, and price tags are removed from items before shipping.

Can I send an order directly as a gift?

Absolutely. Many of our orders are sent directly to recipients as gifts.

When placing a gift order, please use your own billing address and the recipient’s shipping address at checkout. This helps prevent payment verification issues and shipping delays.

You can include a gift message by entering it in the “Order special instructions” box at checkout. We’ll handwrite your message on a card to include with the order.

Do you offer gift wrapping?

Gift wrapping is available for in-store purchases and orders picked up in-store. At this time, we do not offer gift wrapping for shipped online orders.

 

Product Information

Are your products handmade?

Many of the products we carry are handmade, small batch, fair trade, or produced by independent makers and small businesses.

Do you sell greeting cards?

Yes — we carry a large in-store-only selection of greeting cards and stationery from more than 50 independent stationery brands, including a few designs created exclusively for Notown Goods.

Our card wall includes hundreds of cards for birthdays, sympathy, thank you, weddings, new baby, holidays, and more, along with boxed cards, notebooks, journals, gift wrap, gift bags, and other paper goods.

Seasonal card collections are also displayed throughout the year, including Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, graduation, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, and more.

Greeting cards and stationery are currently available in-store only.

Will handmade or natural products vary?

Yes — slight variations in color, texture, wood grain, glaze, fabric placement, or natural materials are part of the character of handmade and artisan-made goods.

Will seasonal products be restocked?

Some seasonal and limited-edition products may not be restocked once sold out.

Notown Goods is located at 11 Main Street in Sterling, Massachusetts.

What kinds of products do you carry?

We specialize in thoughtful goods for everyday life, including handmade, small-batch, fair trade, and independently made gifts for home, kitchen, bath & body, baby, seasonal decorating, and more.

Do you carry locally made products?

Yes — we proudly carry a selection of locally made products from Massachusetts and New England makers.

 

Shipping & Delivery

How quickly do orders ship?

Orders typically ship within 3 business days. During the holiday season or major sales events, processing times may occasionally be slightly longer.

Which shipping carriers do you use?

Orders may ship via USPS, UPS, or FedEx depending on package size, destination, carrier availability, and estimated delivery timing. We select the shipping method that allows us to provide reliable and timely delivery as efficiently as possible.

If you have a preferred carrier for your order, please reply to your order confirmation email shortly after placing your order and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request.

How long does shipping take?

Delivery timelines vary depending on the shipping service selected and your location.

USPS Ground Advantage is the slowest shipping option and may take approximately 2–6 business days to arrive. USPS Priority Mail typically arrives within 1–3 business days.

While we ship promptly, delivery timelines are determined by the carrier and cannot be guaranteed.

Do you offer free shipping?

Yes — we offer free shipping on qualifying orders of $125+.

Free shipping offers apply to qualifying merchandise subtotals before tax and after any discounts are applied. Free shipping is available for orders shipping within the contiguous United States, as well as APO/FPO military addresses.

Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. territories are excluded from free shipping offers, and shipping rates for those destinations will be calculated at checkout.

Do you ship to military addresses?

Yes — we ship to APO/FPO military addresses.

Can I request a specific carrier?

Absolutely. If you have a preferred shipping carrier for your location, please reply to your order confirmation email shortly after placing your order and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request.

Thoughtful Packaging & Reused Materials

Whenever possible, we reuse clean shipping boxes and packing materials as part of our commitment to reducing waste and giving quality materials a second life. Many of the boxes we receive from our vendors are in excellent condition and perfect for reuse.

Your order may occasionally arrive in a carefully reused box or mailer, but every package is packed with care and attention before it leaves our shop.

 

Local Pickup

Do you offer in-store pickup?

Yes — local pickup is available at our Sterling, Massachusetts shop location.

You’ll receive a notification when your order is ready for pickup.

 

Returns & Damages

What if my item arrives damaged?

Please contact us within 3 days of delivery if your order arrives damaged.

Photos of the damaged item and packaging may be required. Damaged items must be returned before a replacement or refund can be issued, so please keep all items and original packaging until your claim has been reviewed.

Do you accept returns?

Yes — we accept returns. Please refer to the appropriate return policy for complete return details and eligibility.
